What are you family traditions for Fourth of July… A big picnic or BBQ with family and friends? Lots of chips, pies, burgers and beers? Do you feel bloated and fatigued after the long weekend? People rarely believe me but it is possible to make healthy choices at parties…especially potluck when you can select the food you wish to eat. Stay away from sugar which is in everything including ketchup!
BBQ Potluck is an easy way to stay on our clean eating challenge:
- bring your own organic free range grass feed meat to grill.
- make your own guacamole…blend avocados with pico de gallo
- share vegetable tray and use the guac for dip
- grill vegetables on the grill
- fresh local fruit with local cream
- Colorful Garden Salads – use olive oil for dressing and sea salt
- Cobb salads- hardboiled eggs, avocado, bacon, goat cheese and top with olive oil
- Raw sheep and goal cheese plate with raw almonds or walnuts with olives and salami cuts
- Drink sparkling water with lemon or lime or club soda.
- Make jasmine green tea then cool it in the fridge for ice tea
