I was on an airplane the other day catching up on easy reading magazines on health and fitness. Every magazine has a “new” article on weight loss and food plans to lose weight in a short amount of time. Why do these articles still preach “eat healthy grains” which are usually processed foods and “low-fat or non-fat” products which are filled with sugar. Maybe the nutritionist writing the articles need to include food products that are advertised in the magazine or endorse an individual. I suppose Television shows and magazines do not make money off advertisements for grass fed organic food products or the local farm fresh products.
Do these articles make sense? Sometimes they do …rarely
Another questionable weight loss products are produced by Weight Watchers. I know of a few clients who have used Weight Watcher’s Program to lose weight in the past and loved the point system. The lost weight and some kept it off. BUT how does Weight Watcher’s teach their weight loss clients to eat REAL FOOD when they offer points for processed foods as microwave popcorn or Weight Watcher’s cookies?
The goal for me is to teach clients how to eat more fresh local organic healthy fats, vegetables, fruits and farm raised organic proteins.
How do you get people to stop being brainwashed on how to lose weight by the media?
Are all calories equal? No
Does your food come in a box or have a barcode? Hopefully No
Are you able to read the food label?
